WHY HAVE A HOME KEG SYSTEM?
COST
Cost/pint – The average cost of a pint at the pub is now over $15 (Brewer’s Association of Australia, Jan 2024). In contrast, purchasing a 20L keg from Tap That Brewery & Keghouse is $110, taking the cost/pint down to only $3.15.
What about the bottleshop? A case of Stone & Wood is $80. This equates to 7.92L at $10.09/L. Tap That’s offering via our 20L kegs comes in at $5/L. That’s a 50% saving!CONVENIENCE
More than just beer – Tap That produces Ginger Beer, Hard Solo, RTD spirits (eg Gin & Tonic) and cocktails (eg Margarita’s), Seltzers and sours – all kegged and on tap. We can also keg non-alcoholic beverages like soda water, Kombucha and even cold-pressed coffee.
Less frequent trips to the bottleshop – Since kegs hold a large volume, your beer is always available for those friends and relatives that drop in unannounced.CONNECTION

Already have a Keg System and want to get your kegs filled at Tap That?
As a commercial brewery, we run a ‘swap & go’ model for 20L commercial A or D Type kegs.
If you own your own corny’s, we will gladly clean, sanitise and refill your kegs, but give us 24-72 hours to turn these around.
If you’re in a rush, you can take one of our commercial kegs and we can store yours for next time, but just a heads up… you’ll need a A or D-Type Coupler.

We will have a range of craft beer, ‘near beers’ (eg ginger beer, seltzers and sours), RTD spirits (eg gin & tonic, whiskey ginger) and cocktails (eg mojito) all on tap and produced onsite. Pop into the keghouse to see what’s on offer.
We run a ‘swap & go’ model. Simply call in advance and your fresh kegs will be ready on your arrival
47 schooners.
Keg prices will range from $110 for beer, $130 for near beers and RTD spirits, and $325 for cocktails. If we use an example keg price of $110, this works out to $2.34/schooner. Far more cost effective than going to the pub!
If your beer is stored correctly at the right temperature and pressure, it will last 9 months.
Absolutely! Chris–our Head Brewer–has the skillset to make RTD spirits (eg Gin & Tonic, Rum & Ginger Beer) and cocktails (eg Mojito and Margaritas) on tap for enjoyment in your Home Keg System. We will also be brewing hard Ginger Beer, Ciders, Seltzers and Sours. With the right attachments you can serve soda water, kombucha, even cold-brew coffee!
The main factors to consider include:
- A space for your Home Keg System – they are suitable outdoors if under cover and require 50-100mm clearance on either side for ventilation (just like a normal fridge)
- Your general alcohol consumption levels and how much variety of beverages you want to have – keep in mind our range will include beer, ginger beer, RTD spirits and cocktails, seltzers and sours.
- Budget – with 1-6 tap options available, there is a Home Keg System to suit every budget. While the upfront investment is a consideration, the long-term savings are undeniable.
Yes, some level of installation and assembly is required. Our supplier offers detailed instruction manuals and videos, making the process relatively straightforward. We are available to assist also.
Cleaning your beer lines is recommended to ensure the highest quality and taste of your beer. This should be done every few months and once again is a relatively straight forward process.

We offer delicious Meat & Cheese Platters, Kids Snack Packs and bar snacks. If you’re after something more substantial you are more than welcome to have Uber Eats delivered. Food trucks are onsite on occasion.
